Lash Lift And Tint

What is Lash Lift and Tint

The Lash Lift and Tint (also known as LVL Lashes or Length-Volume-Lift) is one of the latest trends in the beauty industry. It is a lifting technique designed to give you longer-looking natural lashes without the need for lash extensions. It will look as if you’ve used a really good eyelash curler, only the lift lasts for up to 6 weeks. Requiring minimal maintenance, it is ideal for short, long, straight, or even curly, lashes to make them appear longer and more lifted without the need for eyelash extensions or the daily use of eyelash curlers. To give your lashes the extra wow factor we’ll apply a black lash tint which really makes your eyes pop! The treatment takes about 45 to 60 mins to complete.

Preparation

Please arrive to your appointment completely free of eye make up. Extra time used to clean your lashes will result in reduced time to perform your lash lift. If you wear contacts, they must be removed.

Care in the first 48 hours:

  • Avoid water, heat, steam or oil- based products coming into contact with your lashes to allow your lash lift to set.
  • Be gentle, avoid rubbing your eyes and playing with your lashes – please let them set and settle to their desired shape. Resist the temptation to touch!
  • Try to avoid getting your lashes caught on clothes and towels.
  • Avoid wearing mascara
  • Be careful when applying and removing make-up, do not get the lashes wet. Also be careful with any eyeliners, eye creams, eye make-up removers, lotions, suncream or cleansers containing oils.
  • Try and sleep on your back to avoid crushing your lashes in the pillow.

After 48 hours:

  • You are free to swim, use mascara, take hot showers and attend the spa/sauna!
  • Do not perm, tint or curl the using a clamp eyelash curlers.
  • Keep the eye area clean, this is very important. Avoiding proper hygiene can result in an eye infection. Ask your lash artist for information on appropriate eye cleaning products.

At West One MYB we use quality, EU regulated products and our lash treatments are performed by a certified lash artist to ensure our clients have the best results.

Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions are an extremely popular beauty treatment. Eyelash extensions add volume, length and curl to your natural lashes, and with the help of an experienced lash artist you can transform your appearance and make you morning routine much easier.

Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent, synthetic mink lashes that are glued meticulously one-by-one onto your natural lash (not the skin), to resemble your natural lashes. By applying the lashes only one lash at a time instead of quickly layering it on top of multiple lashes, your natural lashes are given the freedom to move and shed as they naturally would and causes little to no irritation or heaviness.

Extensions will open up your eyes with a fresh and feminine look. This non-invasive technique is pain-free and clients have said they have never felt so at ease during the application – some have even fallen asleep. Once your eyelash extensions have been applied, you’ll have a hard time looking away from the mirror. With thicker, longer and perfectly curled lashes, everyone will wonder why you look so great, but won’t quite know what’s changed!

Extensions will last 2-4 weeks depending on your lash growth cycle, how you sleep and how well you care for your extensions. On average, our clients book in for re-lash appointments every 3 weeks.

At West One MYB we use quality, EU regulated products with certified lash artists to ensure our clients have the best results. You will leave with beautiful eyelash extensions that range from natural to dramatic, depending on your taste.

Our eyelash extensions offer clients a natural, enhanced look to their eyelashes. Depending on your lashes and how dramatic you want you want to be, anywhere between 50-90+ lashes are applied to each eye. The look is completely customised for you. A classic full set is a great look for any age or eye shape.

Full Set 2 hours

Touch ups:

  • 30 minutes (1 week)
  • 60 minutes (3 weeks)
  • Less than 50% retention or over 4 weeks – new set needed.

We do not have a predetermined number of lashes that we will apply on you. Our goal is to have your lashes looking like a full set every time you walk out of our door. We lash every lash possible during the time allotted.

Preparation

Please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time with clean/makeup free eyes and lashes. Extra time spent cleaning your lashes will mean less time lashing.

Eyelash Care Instructions

  • Avoid oil- based products for the entire duration of your lash extensions. Especially avoid oil based creams, lotions and serums around the eye area if possible, and never apply on your eyelid as these products could sweat or rinse down into your lashes and eye.
  • Avoid steam, heat, sauna, spas for the first 48 hours after receiving your lash extensions.
  • Cleanse the lashes daily to avoid infection using the Foaming Cleanser and complimentary eyelash cleansing brush available from our salon. After rinsing the lashes, brush the lashes down to straighten them and then brush them up to fluff.
  • Do not perm or tint lashes after eyelash extension application.
  • Do not use regular eyelash curlers to curl extensions. This could break off the extensions and damage your natural lash. The extensions have a strong curl to them and you may always request to go curlier and your next appointment if necessary.
  • Do not rub your eyes or lashes. Use your mascara wand/ microfiber brush/ lint free applicator to help with any itchiness.
  • If you choose to wear mascara – only apply to the tips and used water-based mascara that washes off easily. Do not wear waterproof mascara. Remove with an oil free eye make-up remover.
  • Do not try to remove the eyelash extensions on your own, please schedule an appointment with us to safely remove your extensions so as to not damage your natural lashes.
  • Do not cut the extensions. You may cut your skin or natural lashes. Your lashes will also become very blunt and not natural looking.
  • Come in every 2-4 weeks for a touch up to keep your lashes looking full and to have grown out or wonky lashes removed.
  • Never tug, twist, pick or pull at your lashes or extensions.
  • Brush and groom your lashes gently with a disposable mascara wand or lint free make up applicator.
  • Try to sleep on your back or side with your eyes off of the pillow, avoid smashing your lashes as you sleep if possible. We recommend using a silk pillowcase if you are a side sleeper. Silk is less likely to catch your lashes.
  • If you must touch your lashes or eyes, always use upward sweeping motions (no side to side rubbing at the lash line).

FAQ

Do Eyelash Extensions Damage Your Natural Lashes?

We care about your safety during and after the procedure, and we never apply eyelash extensions to your skin, only to your natural eyelashes. Our certified lash artists will select and apply suitable lash extensions based on the health of your natural lashes. Our main priority is to preserve your natural lashes’ health. When applied correctly, natural lashes should never hurt or cause your natural lashes to break off. Your lash artist will recommend never pulling or tugging on your extensions, which will avoid damage your natural lashes. It is very important to keep the eye area clean. Proper hygiene is essential to avoid eye infection. Your lash artist will provide you with information on appropriate eye cleaning procedures and products.

How long do Eyelash Extensions Last?

With proper at home care, the adhesive will last anywhere from 6-8 weeks. However, you do lose 3-5 natural lashes every day, or 21-35 lashes lost per week. After an average of 2-4 weeks, most clients will want to come in for infills to keep their lashes looking full. There are many factors that could affect the retention of your extensions including improper home care, not cleaning the lash line, oily eyelids, the use of oil based products on or around the eyeline, medications, allergies, thyroid or hormonal issues, lifestyle, seasonal changes, a natural heavy lash shed, and so much more. If you do run into an issue with your retention, please contact us so we can discuss next steps.

Can I Wear Makeup / Mascara?

The eyelash extensions and adhesive are both deep black to give the appearance of mascara and often times eyeliner, so makeup is not really necessary. If you do decide to wear makeup/mascara, avoid oil based and waterproof products as those will break down the adhesive faster. The most important bond of the eyelash extension and the natural lash is at the base so mascara may be worn on the tips of the extensions which can allow you to go an extra few days before your touch up and straighten any “lazy lashes”. Remember to use an oil free eye make-up remover too to reduce the effects of breaking down the adhesive.

How Do I Care for My Eyelash Extensions?

It is very important to clean and brush your lashes/lash line daily to prevent eye irritation, infection, blepharitis or other eye health issues. To do so, use our daily Foaming Cleanser especially formulated for eyelash extension cleansing and care. For extra protection and to increase the life of your lash extensions, use our Lash Perfect Finishing Glaze every three days. We recommend our Lashes Aftercare kit. This exclusive kit includes everything needed to properly cleanse, protect, and maintain your eyelash extensions.

How Are Your Services Different?

At West One MYB we are certified lash artists holding several qualifications in beauty therapy. We ensure that each extension is properly applied on only one single lash at a time. Our primary focus and specialty is ensuring your natural lash health is protected throughout the duration of wearing eyelash extensions.

If at any point your lash artist observes damage being done to your natural lashes or it is assumed that the extensions are too heavy for your natural lash, adjustments in the length and/or weight of your extensions will be made and discussed with you to ensure your natural lash health is protected. If you have any questions about the process or your natural lashes, please do not hesitate to ask as many questions as necessary to feel comfortable and confident in your eyelash extension experience.
